ma checks What are employers not permitted to ask you?All the employers are not allowed to ask you about arrests, detentions, or any violations of law from which no conviction resulted. In other words, you do not have to tell an employer about charges that you were not found guilty of.
Does this effect me if I may have done some wrong things in the past? If you have been convicted or incarcerated for a misdemeanor five years ago or more with no convictions since, employers cannot ask about them. You are not required to tell your possible employers anything about your delinquency cases. Nor do you have to inform them that you were a “Child in Need of Services”. Below the mouth, as long as the case was not transferred to Superior Court for criminal prosecution.
What does it mean to get a criminal record sealed? The good news is that once a record is sealed, only those within the criminal justice system are allowed to see it. The charge basically only exists for the police and the courts, but for just about all other people, it’s really non-existant. few records of the Massachusetts criminals can be sealead. When the record is sealed, most business will not be able to view it when doing a CORI check. Remember, you do not need to inform an employer about a criminal record that has already been sealed.
How does one go about getting a record sealed? The criminal record is elibible for sealing since all of the felony convictions have closed.
Since it has been 10 years of misdemeanor convictions have closed sine 15 years Definiton: When the case closes either on the person’s last day of prison, parole, and or probation or any of the above that may came last. You filling out a form and mailing it to the office of the commissioner of probation in Boston.

Can you tell me how long this may take? You wouldn’t get any waiting period, but you would have to produce details showing that a “compelling governmental interest” is present, or some other genuine causes for sealing the record. A good reason could be that the charges are preventing you from finding employment or housing.
