Forgiving Others – Transforming To A Lifetime Set Free

The Supreme Sacrifice

God sent His Son to earth for a sacrifice, in order to die an agonizing death on a cross as a result of our sin. Scripture reveals He was so disfigured, more than that of any man.

Just as there were many who were appalled at him-his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness-
Isaiah 52:14 NIV

An Act of Forgiveness

Christ was totally innocent and people who mocked Jesus while He hung upon the cross and also determined Him guilty were the ones guilty. He was dying because of their sins still He spoke to His Heavenly Father asking for their forgiveness.

And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they also cast lots in order to divide his garments.
LuKe 23:34

Their wrongdoing to Jesus had been great, but His forgiveness was in fact greater.

What He Expects

For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
Matthew 6:14-15

It is hard for us to be able to forgive one that has caused us pain however it is exactly what Jesus is actually requiring and expecting from all of us. He was a perfect example in forgiving those who had wounded Him while they hadn’t asked for forgiveness.

“And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:32

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Colossians 3:12-13

The Accuser

Consider a situation that you experienced that you have been hurt greatly. Have you experienced it again and again mentally, do you find yourself being aggressive in thought when it comes to see your face? In your head have you accused them, perhaps you have aimed an outraged finger their way and also angry words, as I have, at someone who has hurt you? Has it turned you into an enraged individual full of resentment? Have you granted Satan a foothold in your life? He wouldn’t wish you to forgive. You see He arrived to ruin.

Can you see exactly what the individual that injured you is continuing to create in your life? Harm, discomfort, up evil, resentment, Satan’s foothold.

Those We Love

Those who cause us quite possibly the most hurt are generally the people we love quite possibly the most. It is often a husband or wife injuring the other one. Maybe a father or mother betraying their children, a brother which lashes out or a friend who turns on you.

Then add your combative actions to them and we have hearts loaded with wrath resulting in nil possible remedy. The actual rage, hurt, resentment continues to escalate until somebody proclaims I am sorry or if you decide to forgive them although never asked.

It’s Your Choice?

The joy as well as peace with discharging the individual that causes harm to you to God is certainly beyond explanation. They didn’t ask to be forgiven and their strangle hold continued until you offered them to God. You are then able to release all of your anger as well as pain amassed within. Ask your self this? Who far better to cope with them you or perhaps God?

I love this verse on love where we are told not to be arrogant, rude or insist on our own way.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
