5 Super Foods that Battle Stress
You hear about activities you can do that relieve stresss all the time, but did you also know that there are foods you could eat to reduce your likelihood of being stressed? Here are a few super foods bound to keep you stress free:
Avocados
Stress is a great excuse to indulge in an avocada adorned salad or some creamy guacamole. Not only will you get instant stress relief, but avocado is proven to lower your blood pressure so you’ll also be doing your heart good!
Oats
Just another reason to indulge in that Oatmeal in the morning! Oats contain carbohydrates which are absorbed slowly, and this enhances the serotonin-producing abilities of your brain. Serotonin is your body’s own stress-relieving chemical.
So if you know you’ll have a busy, high-pressure day, take a few moments to eat a bowl of oatmeal or muesli before you leave the house.
Oranges
Oranges are high in vitamin C which is proven to relieve stress by returning your blood pressure and levels of cortisol (a chemical produced by the body when you’re under stress) to normal levels quickly.

If you hate fish, you can substitute by buying capsules of omega-3, though nothing is as good as the real thing.

Skim milk not only calms you down at any time, but it’s especially useful when you’re suffering the irritability and mood swings of PMS. PLUS, it’s a great natural relief for stress induced insomnia.
